Screen Actors Guild Awards 2007

2008

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) handed out their first of many much converted Life Achievement Award in 1963. There awards are voted by two random selected panels of 2100 members. Each select there nomination for film and television. The nominees then go out to the entire membership for voting. The SAG awards are the only awards to solely recognize the craft of acting, both individual performances as well as on the work of the entire cast. This is in keeping with the spirit of the Screen Actors Guild Awards because they recognize what all actors know – that acting is a collaborative art.

"The Actor" statuette was originally designed by Jim Heimann and Jim Barrett, Each statue carries a serial number engraved at its base, so naturally Numbering began with no. 1.

This year the 13th annual awards took place on the 28th of January,
